Doors, furniture and false ceilings are priced per sq ft, per running foot or per piece — and the plywood grade, laminate and hardware make all the difference. GenuineRate checks materials and rates, and flags what the quote doesn't specify.
Every line is compared with brand price lists and researched rates for your city. You get what's overpriced, what's missing, questions to ask, and a polite message to send.
Common overcharges
Plywood grade not stated
MR, BWR and BWP plywood differ a lot in price and water resistance. The quote should name the grade, thickness and brand.
Hardware brand missing
Hinges, channels and handles range from cheap to premium. Ask for the brand.
Unclear measuring
Ask how sq ft is measured — the front area only, or sides and shelves too.
Design fees hidden in rates
Interior firms sometimes fold a design fee into higher rates. Ask for it separately.
