Modular kitchens, wardrobes and full home interiors are priced per sq ft — but what's measured, and the board, finish and hardware behind that rate, decide what you really pay. GenuineRate checks the rates against researched prices for your city and flags what the quote doesn't specify.
Every line is compared with brand price lists and researched rates for your city. You get what's overpriced, what's missing, questions to ask, and a polite message to send.
Common overcharges
Area measured differently
Kitchens and wardrobes are usually priced per sq ft of cabinet front. Ask exactly how the area is measured — some quotes add sides, shelves or lofts at the full rate.
Board and finish not stated
BWP or BWR plywood, MDF or particle board, laminate or acrylic — each changes the price a lot. The quote should name the board, thickness, finish and brand.
Hardware brand missing
Hinges, channels and baskets range from basic to premium. Ask for the brand and model.
Countertop, sink and appliances extra
Kitchen quotes often leave out the granite or quartz top, the sink, hob and chimney. Check what's included.
GST and design fees added at the end
Ask whether the rate includes 18% GST and any design fee before you compare quotes.
